When Help Comes to the Back Door
A Mystic Journey Reflection
This past week, I had the dreamy delight of sitting down with Jeffrey Segal—owner of Mystic Journey and author of The Tiny Book of Big Manifesting. Amid the dappled sunlight of the patio at Mystic Journey in Santa Monica, surrounded by towering crystals and wise old succulents, Jeffrey enchanted me with his 5 steps to manifesting.
As the air hummed with possibility (or was it the overhead airplanes—darn paparazzi!) —we dove deep into the juicy intersection between manifesting and dreamifesting.
Jeffrey shared intimate stories from his personal journey—from being a successful lawyer to becoming the proprietor of LA’s largest crystal gallery and spiritual bookstore. He shared about how intention, alignment, and unseen forces conspire (in the best ways) to deliver what we need, when we need it.
One story stuck to me like dream glitter:
He told me about a time when he desperately needed to deliver a massive, thousand-pound crystal to a customer. The clock was ticking—if it didn’t get there by the next day, the sale would be lost (and he really needed the sale). He had no delivery plan, no crew, no options. So he did what powerful (dream)manifestors (aka Dreamifesters) do: he asked the Universe for help.
Just then, there was a knock at the back door.
Standing there was exactly the person who could help him move the giant crystal—no ad, no outreach, just the answer… showing up, unannounced, through the quiet, humble back door.
It got me thinking—this is a lot like our dreams. Their cryptic messages enter in through the service entrance of our consciousness. But if we pay attention to them, we realize they are always EXACTLY what we need, when we need it.
How often do we miss the signs because we’re only looking at the front door (aka the logical place)?
How many answers might already be waiting for us… quietly, patiently… at the back threshold of our awareness?
How might our “luck” change if we opened our eyes to behold the blessings that are obvious, and the ones that come in deep cover?
So today, I invite you to pause, breathe, and ask:
What do I need right now?
Might it be knocking quietly at the back door of my consciousness—ready to help, heal, or deliver?
The Universe is listening. Our dreams are delivering. We just might need to peek around the corner (aka, take a few minutes to shine a light on our dreams)…and take action on the support they provide.
